It has been a while since we have been able to meet in person but thanks to Zeal Holistic Health we have access to this beautiful yurt for meditation. Please scroll down for class details.
Daytime Classes: Mondays from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Evening Classes: Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
It is important to arrive at least 10 minutes before class starts.
In order to allow for social distancing, we are only able to accommodate 8 people plus our teacher, Adele Chatterton, at a time so reservations are a must.
If you have been given a spot for the entire series it is important to contact Adele as soon as possible if you are unable to attend a specific class so that someone on the waitlist can be called to take the spot for that class.

As mentioned above, Adele will be keeping a list for anyone that does not have a spot already for the entire series. Ask to be put on this list if you are interested in taking someone’s spot that is unable to attend.

Putting On The Armour
The Armour of Patience
For a qualified practitioner of training the mind, all living beings are Spiritual Teachers and all situations are Dharma lessons. If we can hold this special recognition with mindfulness, there will no longer be any obstacles to our spiritual practice, because all our daily experiences will become meaningful and will serve to increase our good qualities.
“I don’t need to read books; everything that appears to my mind is a Dharma book. All things confirm the truth of Buddha’s teachings and increase my spiritual experience.”
Our world is as impermanent as autumn clouds, with our birth and death being like the entrance and exit of an actor on the stage. Actors frequently change their costumes and their roles, making their entrance in different disguises.
In the same way, living beings take different forms continually and enter new worlds.
When we wake up in the morning we should rejoice, thinking, “How amazing it is that my breathing has sustained my life throughout sleep. If it had ceased during the night I would now be dead!” (Nagarjuna)
Karma means actions: The actions of our body, speech, and mind. This subject is very meaningful. Throughout our life we have to experience various kinds of suffering and problems without choice. This is because we do not understand what actions we need to abandon and what actions we need to practice. If we had his knowledge and put it into practice there would be no basis for experiencing suffering and problems.As a result of our pure actions or pure karma, everything we experience will be pure. There will no longer be the slightest trace of suffering, impurity, or problems.
This is how to find true happiness from within our own mind.
Patience is a mind that is able to accept, fully and happily, whatever occurs. It is much more than just gritting our teeth and putting up with things. Being patient means to welcome wholeheartedly whatever arises, having given up the idea that things should be other than what they are. It is always possible to be patient; there is no situation so bad that it cannot be accepted patiently, with an open, accommodating, and peaceful heart. There is no evil greater than anger, and no virtue greater than patience. Therefore, I should strive in various ways to become familiar with the practice of patience. Renunciation is a mind that functions to stop attachment to worldly pleasures and that seeks liberation from contaminated rebirth. Just as a bird cannot fly if it has stones tied to its legs, so we cannot make progress on the spiritual path if we are tightly tied down by the chains of attachment.
Worldly pleasures cannot give us real satisfaction; in reality, they cause us only suffering. In this way they are deceptive. This human life with all its suffering and problems is a great opportunity for us to improve both our renunciation and our compassion.
Appreciating our life today may seem challenging if we feel that some, much, or all of our freedom and happiness has been taken away from us in self-isolation. However, with this life, we have the opportunity to attain the supreme happiness of enlightenment through practicing Dharma. This is our extraordinary good fortune.
In this class, we also consider how we can feel uplifted by this opportunity to benefit our current situation and consider it as a precious time to not be wasted.
The Joyful Path of Good Fortune written by Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso teaches us that reliance upon a Spiritual Guide is called the ‘root of the path’ because all other spiritual realizations of Sutra and Tantra depend upon it.
If we rely completely upon our Spiritual Guide, he or she will reveal what we have to practice to attain full enlightenment.
Such reliance brings many benefits along our path, such as overcoming our faults and delusions more easily.
